Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We describe a method for subjective summarization and its experimental result with an evaluation on effectiveness and usefulness. Using newspaper articles on traffic accidents and murders, we select three kinds of viewpoints, those of offenders, victims, and third-party persons, and summarize the articles based mainly on how various words concerning the viewpoints are used. The evaluation of the summarizations thus taken is favorable. Human subjects could differentiate which point each of the summarizations took and gave good marks on their suitability and readability.
