Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Developmental changes in intentional vocal affect expressions are examined for preschool, school child and adult speakers. Emotional utterances of /pikachu/, a famous TV character, were recorded from each subject and analyzed. The syllable duration as well as FO contours significantly varied depending on emotion and age, although the FO patterns of adults were close to those of preschoolers rather than schoolage children. These results suggest that the phonetic and emotional constraints in affective utterances developmentally change.
