Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Contradiction is one of useful clues to discover imperfection of knowledge. On the basis of this idea, this paper presents fundamental results for contradiction processing:classification of contradiction, analysis of logical contradiction among others, and methods of contradiction resolution. At first, many types of contradiction were classified into three groups, i.e.logical, emotional, and the other contradiction. Causes of the logical contradiction was then analytically examined to propose processing methods of contradiction resolution. These methods adopted three new concepts, i.e.ground of validity of knowledge, robustness of ground, and ground space. Dynamic change of a knowledge system was also examined in terms of the three concepts. As a results, new methods based on the concepts were proposed for resolving contradiction in a knowledge system.
