A Brief History of Thoughts/Learning Studies in Psychology : Challenges of Comparative Psychology

Abstract(in English) In the present paper, I reviewed the brief history of comparative psychology, with the emphasis on studies of thoughts, behavioral plasticity and learning behavior. Fifteen kinds of learningtasks were described, and the characteristics and merits of each task were summarized.The modern psychology with sclentific methodology was established at the end of 19th century.Since then, comparative studies with animals have provided useful information that can be transferred to studies with people who cannot easily communicate verbally(e.g., babies or the hanndicapped)
