Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The present paper deals with the subjects to be considered in the Japanese-English translation of the predicate word"NARU"in Japanese. In the academic texts or the papers of science and technology, we have a big tendency of using this word as the predicate in the description of equations in mathematics. This predicate has a number of linguistic meaning in spite of simple word. English has a variety of expressions with respect to the corresponding"NARU". To fond better Japanese-English translation, we have studied the frequencies of the said predicate from a academic text of Fourier Transform written in English. We conclude that the research developments are useful in finding the proper predicate in the Japanese-English Translation. Finally, a better translation method is disclosed with some examples.
