Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We know from our experience that we use not only language information but also visual pictorial information as cues for learning categorical concepts, particularly "natural kind concepts." However, the effectiveness of various modes of information in concept learning is not yet fully understood. Furthermore, we do not know anything about the significance of those information media to human cognition. We report an exploratory psychological experiment in which we attempt to answer these questions. In the experiment, we observed the difference in performance of concept learning under the conditions in which we implement three types of information modes.
