Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses a pattern understanding approach to implementing emotion arousal processes from computational viewpoint. To clarify the nature of emotions, we assume that agents in the paper arouse emotions like a schoolchild without social influences. First of all, we analyze the features of Plutchik's eight pure emotions, i.e. joy and sadness from many cases, and then represent the factors of emotion arousal in frame structures. Next, we overview our Aesop-World system, where human mental and physical processes are simulated. Then we illustrate an emotion arousal program built into Aesop-World with "daemons" observing mental and physical states. Experiments showed that the system worked as expected and thus our pattern understanding approach was promising.
