Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) From processing point of view, emotion arousal can be considered as a feature extraction in pattern comprehension. We already classified emotion into eight primitives following Plutchik's theory, and analyzed emotion arousal process. Then we have developed an intelligent agent system, in which an agent has modules to extract features from a change in its state, and its emotion is aroused depend on the features. We describe this emotion arousal process with frame expression. Although emotion is aroused as we expected, we found three problems to improve the system: more detailed features are required to process various emotions; a mechanism to manage many features is necessary; a method to merge modules to the existing complex agent system is needed. In this paper, we first discuss the detailed features found by the analysis of emotion arousal process, then describe a subsystem to extract these features and to arouse emotion in an agent. The implementation to merge this subsystem to the agent system is also explained.
