Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper develops the concept of the safety integrity of safety related systems with automatic diagnoses, based on IEC 61508. The system equipped with automatic diagnostes is not always fail-safe. When a redundant control system is substituted to the failed one to achieve the safety function after the fault-detection, these sub-systems are supposed to structure a fail-operable system. Then, the evaluation of the safety integrity of the fail-operable system is required. In general, the diagnostic function improves the reliability of the system, however, spurious diagnoses may decrease its safety integrity. In addition, automatic diagnoses change the values of β-factors related to common cause failures.
