Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The paper describes the temperature characteristics of optical connectors. The calculation methods of the compression stress forced on optical fiber sufface have been proposed, and the temperature cycle test results of optical connectors have been discussed. Insertion losses of optical connectors change with environment temperature, since connector components, such as ferrule, epoxy, and optical fiber, have different expansion ratio. When temperature changes, compression stress is forced on optical fiber. Lower the temperature becomes, bigger the compression stress becomes.
