Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a 3-D model-based method for estimating the pose of a human hand from monocular silhouette image sequences. At each frame, possible poses of the palm are generated based on a temporal constraint, and the degree of matching between the projections and the silhouette is evaluated. For the well-matched palm pose, possible finger poses are generated. For each protrusions of the silhouette, the best-matched finger pose is selected. If there are some unmatched fingers, their poses are estimated based on their overlapping areas to the silhouette.Experimental results using real images are shown.
