| Abstract(in English) | We propose an new approach to layout analysis of document images based on pattern classification scheme.It defines the feature space in terms of low level image processing features such as connected components and projection profiles,then clusters the space into categories that correspond to logical layout components. This method is applied to technical journals.A experiment shows promising results as to its feasibility. |
