Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A method for recognizing noisy drawing is developed. Our method for line segment extraction is faster than ordinary thinning methods, tolerable for noisy images and can get the thickness of lines. For our algorithm of figure retrieval process, the rotation or magnification of figures causes no effect, and the necessary time is proportional to the number of line segments. In addition, easy and flexible figure description is available. Therefore our system is robust for many kinds of handwriting-deviations such as blur, disconnection or sticking out of lines. Experimental results also show that impremented system is robust for deviations and fast enough for practical use.
