| 抄録(和) | 画像選別は、直交展開法に基づく統計的画像認識法において認識精度および認識処理系全体のスループットの向上に効果的な前処理である。選別用特徴空間上で認識力テゴリの分布付近に複数のスポットをあてることで、入力画像の小領域の中から認識力テゴリの候補領域を効率よく選別する。選別された小領域だけが後段の統計的画像認識法で処理される。本報告では、選別効率を表す評価基準(選別基準とよぶ)を提案し、この基準に基づいた特徴空間の構成法を議論する。顔画像や文書画像を用いた認識実験から、この基準が選別用の特徴次元数とスポット数を決定するのに有効であることを示す。 |
| 抄録(英) | Statistical image recognition methods based on linear transformation require a lot of calculation of correlation between subimages and reference patterns of the specified objects to be detected. Image screening provides an effective preprocessing method for lowering the calculation load and improving recognition accuracy. It selects candidate subimages that are similar to the target objects and rejects the remainders using a screening feature space. The selected subimages are then recognized in a recognition feature space. A new criterion for evaluating efficiencies of image screening is presented. Experiments are conducted for the two object detection tasks: eye- and mouth-area detection and text-area detection. The results show that the criterion is effective for designing the screening and recognition feature spaces. |
