Abstract(in English) | It is presented that handwritten characters in free formatted condition have linear variations that are larger than constrained handwritten characters. It is considered that handwritten characters in free formatted condition have more linear variations such as rotation than constrained handwritten characters. It is possible that these linear variations trouble performance of character recognition system without normalizing for these linear variations. In this paper, handwritten characters in free formatted condition are newly collected. First, linear variations for handwritten characters in free formatted condition are analyzed as comparing with constrained handwritten characters. Finally, necessity of normalization for these linear variations are considered. |
