Abstract(in English) | This report describes a new character string recognition method which can perform both of a character string extraction and a recognition simultaneously. A character has possibility to be connected to many character candidates which are scattered around it. By using a knowledge-based spell checking process and a layout analysis process, the method proposed here can construct a character string with selecting correct candidates. This method can recognize character strings which has not been extracted from input images by a conventional method. |
