Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a method for estimating a variety of parameters of a reflection model for an object surface from the measured image by a camera. The Phong model is used as the reflection model for inhomogeneous dielectric objects. First, we describe the reflection properties and the color distribution on a cylinderical object. It is shown that the color reflection is dichromatic, and the three-dimensional reflection including geometric factors is described by the Phong model. Next, we develop a method for estimating the following reflection parameters:(1) object color vector, (2) light source direction, (3) light source color vector, (4) surface roughness. Moreover, the same method is applied to the parameter estimation for a ball object. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is shown in experiments.
