| 抄録(和) | ISOで標準化作業が行なわれているMPEG4の現状と今後を述べる.その中でハイブリット分析合成符号化,動き補償などの技術をコンピュータビジョン/パターン認識の技術と対比させ議論する.さらに,動画像通信に関するこの分野の研究動向として二つの方向を産業界の立場から紹介したいと思う.ーつは,符号化効率の改善ではなく,画像内容,構造を保存することを目指す符号化である. もう一つは,柔軟かつ拡張性のある動画像通信が行なえるようオブジェクト指向プログラミングによる符号化・復号化をプログラマプルかつダウンローダブルとするソフトウェア符号化である. |
| 抄録(英) | We report the current status and future activity of MPEG4 that is a part of the international organization for standardization(ISO) SC29/WGl1, and discuss hybrid analysis and synthesis coding and motion compensation techniques of MPEG4 in light of computer vision and pattern recognition techniques. Furthermore, we would like to discuss two directions of MPEG4 activity from an industrial point of view. One direction is for content-based coding that is devoted to preserving image structures, such as object shape,instead of gaining higher coding efficiency. The other direction is for software coding that enables a decoder to be programmable and extensible, by object-oriented programming,so that the decoder can download a decoding software from a remote server. |
