| 抄録(和) | 本論文では、日本における、超低ビットレート画像符号化技術に関する最近の研究動向 について紹介する。 1980年代半ば頃から、知的画像符号化」と言われる、従来の波形符号化とは発想を異にしたCV、CGとの融合技術としての符号化手法に対する研究が活発化した。単に通信への適用だけでなく、 ヒューマンインタフェース、心理学等幅広い応用へと発展している。一方、1990年代に入ってから、超低ビットレート画像符号化という観点から、より巧緻な動き補償や領域分割の導入による波形符号化手法の改善も積極的に試みられている。また、近年、インタラクティブ符号化、 3次元統合画像通信等、画像通信・メディア技術に関して新たな方向を探る意欲的な試みも始まっている。 |
| 抄録(英) | This paper presents a brief overview of Japanese research activities in the field of very low bitrate video coding. Related researches based on a concept of "Intelligent Image Coding" have started in the middle of 1980's. Although this concept has originated from the consideration to a new type of image coding, it can be also applied to other interesting applications such as human interface, psycho1ogy anid so on. On the other hand, in the 1990's, researches on the improvement of waveform coding have been actively carried out until now to realize very low bitrate video coding. Key techniques employed here are improvemenn of motion compensation technique,adoptionl of region segmentation and so on. In addition to the above, this paper proposes new concepts of image coding, which have the possibility to open the new aspects of image coding ; that is, an idea of interactive image coding, integrated 3-D visual communication and so on. |
