Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a technical trend current research topics and technical issues of machine vision in the automotive industries. The machine vision technologies have been applied widely and a variety of researches have been done in many fields, including a factory automation, an intelligent transportation system, In recent years, it started developments for the on-board driving environmental recognition and the drive's face recognition. To develop such a system, a lot of techniques, such as a monocular vision, a binocular vision and an optical flow, have been tried, but no reliable method has been developed to extract the object from a complicate background. To solve this problem, it is necessary to develop an imaging method that is robust to the brightness changes and to develop an algorithm for recognition.
