Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) IMPRESS is an expert system to construct automatically an image processing procedure for extracting an image feature corresponding to a positive sample figure presented by a user. This paper proposes a new method of procedure construction using negative sample figures in IMPRESS. The negative sample figure means a figure that the user does not want to extract from the original image. In this paper, the new method is applied to edge detection problems from artificial images, chest X-ray images and particle images. It will be shown that the procedure obtained by the new method can extract a figure corresponding to the positive sample figure, while it can suppress the extraction of a figure corresponding to the negative sample figure.
