| 抄録(和) | 外国語学習者の発音を評価し、インテリジビリティ(了解度)の観点から最も重要な誤りを自動的に同定する手法を提案する。専門家により日本人話者のインテリジビリティを5段階で評価し、音声認識器により検出された誤りの割合(エラー率)との関係を調べた。その結果、各段階を特徴づける誤りの存在を確認した。このエラー率の統計的分布を求め、それに基づいて学習者のインテリジビリティを評価するアルゴリズムを提案する。次に学習者のエラー率を同レベルのインテリジビリティのエラー率と比較し、優先的に学習すべき誤りを決定する。実際にこのアルゴリズムを用いてロールプレイ型スキット中で発音の診断を行うシステムを作成した。 |
| 抄録(英) | A method to automatically assess the pronunciation of Japanese ESL students and identify pronunciation errors most critical to their intelligibility is presented. In an experimental study, we evaluate students intelligibility on a 5-level scale and detect their pronunciation errors using Automatic Speech Recognition. We demonstrate which errors characterize each level of intelligibility. We propose an algorithm based on the statistical distributions of the error rates to assess students intelligibility. A given student's error rates are compared to those of students of the same intelligibility level to determine which errors should be studied in priority. This algorithm was implemented in a pronunciation learning system that diagnoses the student's pronunciation on situational skits and guides the student towards adapted pronunciation drills. Preliminary results on intelligibility estimation confirm the validity of the approach. |
