Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In our previous works, we proposed an HMM-based text-to-speech synthesis system. In the system, mel-cepstrum, pitch and duration are modeled in a frame work of HMM. Speech is synthesized using mel-cepstrum and pitch which are generated from HMMs themselves. However, it has often buzzy quality since the system uses a traditional excitation model with either a periodic impulse train or white noise. In this paper, a mixed excitation model is incorporated to the system instead of the traditional excitation model. In addition, a intelligibility of synthesized speech is improved by using a postfilter. The result of a listening test shows that the mixed excitation model and postfilter significantly improves quality of synthesized speech.
