Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we apply complex-allpass-based IIR wavelet filters to wavelet-based image coding, and propose an efficient implementation. While FIR wavelet filters cannot satisfy both exactly linear phase and orthogonal conditions, IIR wavelet filters can satisfy by means of complex allpass filters. Thus, a better compression performance can be expected. Also, image coding is actually performed by implemeting the proposed IIR wavelet filters. It is shown from the experimental results that a better coding performance can be obtained, compared with the conventional FIR wavelet filters. |
