| 抄録(和) | 日米2ヶ国語に対応したWindows及びLinux用のスピーチサーバーを使ってEmacsエディタを音声化し、視覚障害者が仕事や研究でコンピュータを高度利用できるようにする音声システム、Bilingual Emacspeak、を開発している。このシステムはRaman博士のEmacspeakの拡張であり、情報の性質に応じて聴覚に最適化した形で情報を処理する。つまりカレンダーならば2次元構造を保つような方法で情報を出力し、プログラムソースならば文の種類に応じて声を使い分ける。仕事や研究の場やインターネットで扱う情報は英語も多いので、本システムは日米両言語を自動的に切り替えて正確に発音する。Windows版のBilingual Emacspeakのアルファ版が完成しユーザーテストを開始したので、本システムの構造、機能、特徴を詳しく紹介する。 |
| 抄録(英) | The Bilingual Emacspeak is the text-to-speech system that adds a bilingual, Japanese and English, speech output to an Emacs editor and runs on Windows and Linux. The aim of the current system is to enhance Japanese visually impaired graduate students and researchers to use computers at high levels. The current system, which is implemented as an extension of Dr. Raman's Emacspeak, can provide information in the best way for the sense of hearing. The current system can handle Japanese and English to meet the requirements at workplace and Internet. The first version of Windows porting of Bilingual Emacspeak was developed and some tests by a limited number of users have began. The structure, functions, and feature is discussed in this article. |
