Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to understand articulatory mechanism of timing control during speech, it is important to investigate temporal variations of articulatory parameters. Finding a model which can describe articulatory activities with high accuracy and evaluating its behavior under the various conditions of syllable, speaking rate, prosody etc. provide better understanding of temporal properties of speech. The cascaded model proposed by the authors can be a good approximation of successive articulatory movement patterns of tongue, jaw, and lips for vowels and consonants. In the paper, the cascaded model was applied to articulatory movement patterns at normal and fast speaking rates and its behavior was studied by evaluating the values of model parameters.
