Development of Speech Input System for Web-based applications

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes WebSPEAC (Web SPEech Acquisition for Courseware) System as an Web-based speech processing system. The WebSPEAC is a server client-based system, and has the following three features, (1) a simple speech input system is only used in Web browsers, (2) any speech processing are performed on the Web server, (3) a natural interactiveness is achieved by using the multi-part documemt and WebSPEAC protocol, (4) WebSPEAC server can be easily implemented by CGI programs, We show an Web-based speech analysis system and an Web-based speech recognition system using the Julius as the examples of WebSPEAC System.
