Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study observed the relationship between the thickness of artificial maxillary palates and speech production. Six healthy subjects were fitted with artificial palates with seven different thickness and tested with sixteen sounds which have strong connections with palatal dimensions using perceptual auditory impressions, palatograms, and diadochokinesis. Next, we tested the constriction and lingual closure of /s/ and /∫/ using five different artificial palates.
