| Abstract(in English) | We present a new Computer-Aided Pronunciation Learning System, whose main aim is to improve the pronunciation of Japanese language by non-native speakers. The HMM log-likelihood score is used to evaluate their pronunciation, and the instruction is performed on the phone with a low score. As feedback we adopt the articulatory vowel diagram with formant frequencies F_1, F_2 which are mapped onto typical tongue position for vowel sounds, and the classification of the place and manner of articulation for consonant sounds, respectively. It is also shown that the automatic instructions performed for non-native speakers are reasonable. |
