| 抄録(和) | 2000年4月に発足する予定の国立情報学研究所(仮称、National Institute of Informatics, NII)は、文部省学術審議会で審議され文部大臣へ提出された"建議"「情報学研究の推進方策について」(平成10年1月)に基づいており、現在の文部省学術情報センター(NACSIS)を改組・拡充する形で、大学共同利用機関として実現に至ったものである。対象とする分野は"情報学(Informatics)"であり、学術情報サービス部門も継承するというユニークなIT基礎研究所となる。本レポートは、設立の背景、これまでの経緯のあらまし、役割と研究組織、課題等について、NACSISに身を置く一IT研究者の視点から論じている。 |
| 抄録(英) | National Institute of Informatics (NII), which will start on April 1, 2000, by reconstruction and extension of National Center for Science Information Systems(NACSIS), has been established based on a proposal of the Science Council of the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture entitled "Policy for Promoting Informatics Research" (January 1998). The target area of research on NII is "Informatics", i.e., dealing with wider topics on information, from technology to humanity. This report discusses the background, a short history of the establishment, research organization, role, and issues, from the point of views of an IT scientist, who has been working a faculty of NACSIS for about two years. |
