Conceptual Model for Builiding Design Support System

Abstract(in English) Generally,designers focus on the attributes of a design object rather than on its shape while they are designing.Conventional CAD system can not sufficiently support designing of an object because it only manages the shape of the object.We have been developing an architectural CAD system which adopts attribute-oriented model as a conceptual model of a design object for integrating the design information.It can keep a consistency among the attributes.This system provides a constraint-oriented description language in which design knowledge,such as attribute dependency and connection among parts,can be described.Using this description language,a designer can easily modify and improve the design knowledge.
