Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a planner in VIPS/S-SFCD (VIsual Programming System for Sequence control program SpeciFiCation Design). The planner reasons about machine actions and generates segments of control specification written in SFC (Sequential Function Chart). The planning method is based on searching on state space models and uses the concept of scope for searching efficiently. We used the planner to experimentally generate SFC segments for an existing steel plant. The experimental results showed that the quality of SFC segments generated by the planner was the same as the ones generated by a design specialist, and that the design time was much shorter. Therefore, the planner was effective in the design phase of control program development.
