Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Microplasma distribution, triboemission intensity, surface potential due to tribocharging was measured using a pin-on-disk tribometer. The microplasma distribution, both ultraviolet(UV) and infrared (IR) photon images were measured. It was found that the microplasma was distributed beyond 100 micrometers in the rear part of the slding contact surrounding it in the micrometer gap of it. The plasma emitted IR photons addition to the UV photons. However, the intensity of the IR photon was much weaker than that of the UV photon. On the other hand, it was found that surface potential due to tribocharging was not increased with the repeated sliding. This is due to the discharging of the surrounding gas forming the microplasma.
