Analytically Solvable Photonic Crystal Structures and Related Electromagnetic Fields

Abstract(in English) We present a new simple model of two-dimensional photonic crystal and its related structures which can be analytically solved. With the help of the model, we developed wave theory of propagation and resonance of the model to find two novel properties of waves in the structure : A guided mode may have the same propagation constant as one of continuum waves ; and a wave may be localized even in the absence of a "full bandgap". These are counterproofs against some "common beliefs" about photonic crystals.
