Arrayed Variable Optical Waveguide Attenuator for DWDM systems

Abstract(in English) Recently, optical variable attenuators are more important device for DWDM systems. So, we developed 8-channel arrayed optical variable attenuator using Ti:LiNbO_3. This device has good performance (Insertion loss : 2.4dB, Attenuation : 25dB), very compact size (14.4 x 73 x 5.2mm) and good thermal stability. Moreover, we have finished short reliability tests of this device, and demonstrated of high reliability.
