Abstract(in English) In giga-terabit class transmissionequipment, many cores of optical fiber have been introduced for interconnection, practical and smart optical backplane solutions have raised as the most urgent subject. Here we introduce LIGHTLAY MPX optical backplane connector system which is designed to utilize MT based technologies and applicable to the popular backplane design such as HM (Hard Metric). LIGHTLAY MPX realizes a complete self retentive structure because of very unigue latching mechanism, which can maintains basic MT performance as well as provides more than 2mm tolerance of daughter board position. Our brand new cleaing kits also can provide a solution to a fatal dust issue of optical backplane connector.
