| Abstract(in English) | It is essential to develop a low cost optical module and the mass production technology for economical subscriber network system. We newly developed a transmitter/receiver PLC module using passive alignment techniques for a Spot-Size Converted Laser Diode (SSC-LD) mounting on a PLC chip. The LD is passively mounted on the PLC chip by detecting each alignment marks. The transmitter/receiver PLC module integrates the PLC chip, the LD, a PD and a receiver-amplifier. Compact module size of 26×10×3mm^3 is achieved. The output power of the module is +1dBm@33mA and responsivity of 0.45A/W is realized. |
