Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Simple and low-cost "Drop-on-Demand″fabrication technique of polymer microlens that can be used in inter-chip optical interconnections is described. We proposed an "ink-jetting″and a"dispensing″method as the "Drop-on-Demand″fabrication technique. The fundamental characteristics of microlenses fabricated in these ways are discussed. Their advantages were demonstrated by integrating a microlens directly onto a wire-bonded VCSEL.
