Abstract(in English) Recently,the demand for broad bandwidth communication networks is rapidly increasing. Low cost and mass-productive optical communication components are strongly required. We replicated grooves for forming core pattern of optical waveguides into a plastic material by press-molding method. The core patterns with square section shape were formed in the sub-micron range accuracy by this method. This result suggests the excellent potentials of press-molding method for a single-mode plastic optical waveguide.
