Abstract(in English) | An optical loss equalization thin film has been fabricated with thermally stable and transparent, fluorinated polymides that are mixed with carbonblack (CB). The change in its refractive index due to the presence of CB particles is as small as 0.004 or less at the wavelength of 1550 nm. It is also highly thermally stable, losing only 10% of its weight even at the temperature as high as 577℃. Its optical loss can be controlled between 1 dB and 8 dB by changing CB concentration. In the constant CB concentration, its optical loss also can be controlled by changing film thickness. The thiln film is suitable as an optical loss regulation component because its loss is scarcely affected by the variation of wavelength over the range of 1200 nm to 1800 nm. |
