Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The electric contacts mounted on a commercial relay are tested in an AC cicuit on AC3 test condition of JIS standard. In this experience, the number of bounces, duration and energy of switching arc and contact resistance at each operation have been measured through 100,000 switching operations, and contact gaps have been observed at each 5,000 operations in order to observe the erosion of contact switches. As results are as follows, we could not observe the growth of transferred pips as the case of a dc circuit. The calculated value of circuit current for the relationship between the contact operation and the phase of power source corresponded with the measured duration of switching arc.
