Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have fabricated lateral and vertical field effect transistors (FETs) using copper-phthalocyanine (CuPc) evaporated films and measured the basic static and dynamic characteristics of these FETs. It was found that both FETs show good static characteristics and CuPc films play p-type semiconducting properties. Furthermore, the vertical type FETs showed better frequency characteristics compared with that of lateral type FETs. These results demonstrate that the vertical FETs operate as a static induction transistor(SIT)and a short length between the source, drain, and gate electrodes in the SIT structure improve the device characteristics.
