Abstract(in English) Plastic split alignment sleeves for single-mode optical connection were fabricated with a precise injection-molding technique using thermosetting epoxy resin. The plastic sleeves exhibit excellent dimensional accuracy of ±2μm and gauge retention force of 0.3kgf. SC-type adaptors incorporating the plastic sleeves show a connection loss <0.5 dB and a return loss >50 dB. These initial results are maintained in mating tests, temperature-humidity cyclic test, and long-term reliability tests.
