Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors observed the arc voltage waveforms to discuss the effect of atomospheric gas on arc discharge of breaking Ag contacts. The measurement was carried out in low ambient pressure air condition and nitrogen condition. When ambient pressure got lower, arc duration increased, and there was a peak at a certain gas pressure. It got short in the nitrogen and the arc discharge did't transit to the gaseous phase.
