Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Minimim amount of lubricant oils to get a drastic reduction in sliding wear of metals was determined for Cu, Ni sliding system using two kinds of oils,a low viscosity mineral oil without any additives and stearic acid as lubricants.A typical critical amount of oils existed to reduce the specific wear of metals more than 2 figures as compared with tat in dry wear. This critical minimum amount of the mineral oil was corresponded to the thickness of 40 molecular layers, which was same as determined with a L-B film of stearic acid.
