Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A part of the works which author carried out on tribology of magnetic tapes and disks at Kanazawa University is described. Effects of materials and sliding speed on friction and wear of audio heads sliding against tapea and of contact pressure, speed and humidity on VTR head sliding against tape are shown. Fundamental characteristics of friction and damage of rigid thin film disks due to sliding of head and steel sphere are also shown. The results indicate that tribology of magnetic recording includes many interesting problems originated from materials, structure and sliding condition characteristic of the recording.
