Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study was conducted to determine the cause of undulating wear on sliding surfaces in trolley wire.Experiments with a block and ring sliding test instrument were performed to simulate the conditions encountered in actual railroad systems. Slidirfg tests without current collection were carried out to generate undulating wear patterns on copper ring speciment. The results showed that waves of three different wavelengths coulrfcom on the ring surface under different sliding conditions.
