Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Detailed experimental results of optical polarization flipping in internal mirror single mode He-Ne laser with polarizer in external cavity are reported. Then the difference of polarization flipping properties with birefringence which exist in the internal mirrors of the lasers are discussed.Past papers report that for these types of experiments, isotropic lasers are applicable. On the contrary, when feedback light is strong,it was found to be applicable with lasers of large anisotropy and polarization flip occurs with the natural axis of the laser. On the other hand, polarization flip is induced with respect to the anisotropy of the external cavity when the feedback light is strong and the laser has comparatively small anisotropy. The causes of these types of polarization flipping properties can be explained by anisotropy of the laser mirrors.
