Abstract(in English) We have investigated the way to mount chips on an optical waveguide which consists of silica planar lightwave circuits, metal pattern and index marks for alignment. Infrared light is used for detecting index marks formed on optical waveguide and LD, PD chips at the same time in order to mount them precisely. We have confirmed that waveguide PDs are suitable for hybrid integration on optical waveguide. The LD-optical waveguide excess loss was 1.5dB corresponding the offset of about 2μm, and PD mounted loss less coupling on optical waveguide for its well offset tolerance.
