Abstract(in English) Fiber optic connectors are required to reduce the cost for realization of FTTH system. Authors have reported a mass-productive glass ferrule to realize a low cost connector. A new sub-assembly type connector and a cassette for carrying the optical fiber suitable for automatic line are proposed in this paper. The automatic assembling equipment terminate the optical fiber and insert the optical fiber to the glass ferrule automatically. UV-cure adhesive shorten the curing time. Authors developed the automatic assembling equipment based on these technologies. This paper also shows the results of trial manufacturing single mode fiber optic connectors.
